Everything people usually want to know before they hit subscribe.
What is the Power Beyond Pride podcast about?
A weekly podcast amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ changemakers and activists across the United States. Each episode is an honest, humorous and powerful conversation about queer activism, social justice and building real community — the kind of dialogue that goes beyond headlines and into lived experience. There are 69 episodes to browse.
Who are the hosts of Power Beyond Pride?
A diverse team of queer activists from across the U.S., each bringing their own expertise, identity and passion for social change to every conversation. Rather than a single voice, the show is built on a chorus — reflecting the full complexity of queer community and activism. You can meet all the co-hosts here.
Where can I listen to the Power Beyond Pride podcast?
On all major podcast platforms — Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music and iHeartRadio. New episodes drop weekly, so subscribing is the easiest way to never miss one. Every platform is linked at the bottom of this page, and in the footer of every page here.
What topics does Power Beyond Pride cover?
A wide range of issues at the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and activism — from racial justice and trans rights to reproductive freedom, HIV advocacy, community organizing and beyond. If it matters to queer communities in America, the show is probably talking about it. You can search every episode by name or topic.
Is Power Beyond Pride a good podcast for LGBTQ+ activists?
Yes. This is a show for people who want more than commentary: every episode is rooted in real stories from queer activists doing on-the-ground work, paired with practical takeaways you can actually use. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or just getting started, there's something here for you.
How is Power Beyond Pride different from other LGBTQ+ podcasts?
Most podcasts feature one or two perspectives. This one brings together several co-hosts — each a queer activist in their own right — which makes it genuinely multi-vocal rather than diverse in theory. The tone is thoughtful and warm, with real humour, and the conversations aim for substance over hot takes.
Who created Power Beyond Pride, and why?
The show was started by Shane Lukas and grew out of A Great Idea, the LGBTQ+-owned brand communications agency he founded. Both come from the same conviction: that sharing people’s stories is how change actually gets made. A Great Idea has long built advocacy-centred work for organizations doing the hard stuff, and Power Beyond Pride carries that further — handing the microphone directly to the organizers, artists and advocates doing it, rather than talking about them. It runs as a community initiative rather than a commercial product, which is why it is free, weekly, and made by activists rather than about them.
How can I get involved with or support the Power Beyond Pride community?
Listen, subscribe, and share episodes with people in your network — word of mouth is how independent, community-driven podcasts grow. If you are organizing something yourself, you can also apply to be a guest.
Does Power Beyond Pride feature guest activists and community leaders?
Yes — many episodes feature guests doing transformative work in LGBTQ+ communities across the country. Published authors, healthcare advocates, grassroots organizers and artists, reflecting the breadth and depth of queer activism in America today. If that describes you, come and tell us about it.
How often does Power Beyond Pride release new episodes?
Weekly, published on Tuesdays, which makes it easy to build into a routine. Subscribe on your preferred podcast app and each new episode is waiting for you.
